The SuperSaver clock

The 3.00% is fixed for the first 12 months from your first direct debit, on balances up to €30,000. Then the account becomes a Standard Regular Saver at 2.00%, and anything over €30,000 earns 0.50%. Nothing about that is hidden, but nothing about it is announced either: the rate simply changes.

The €2,500 monthly cap is the genuinely useful part. A couple maxing one each can move €60,000 through the headline rate in a year, which no other pillar regular saver allows.

The rest of the shelf

GoalSaver and MortgageSaver pay 2.00% on regular savings up to €14,999, with lump sums above €15,000 earning 0.50%. The Advantage fixed terms are the lump-sum options, 1.51% to 2.24% AER depending on term, and each allows access to a quarter of the money mid-term, which most fixed terms do not.

The Demand Deposit pays 0.10%, the lowest published demand rate of the pillar banks. On €10,000 that is €10 a year.
