What the offer actually is

The 3.04% is explicitly for new customers, capped at a €50,000 cash balance, fully flexible, paid monthly, activated in the app. What it becomes afterwards is not published anywhere on Trade Republic’s Irish site. Historically the rate has tracked the ECB deposit facility rate, currently 2.25%, but that is observation, not commitment.

Where the money actually sits

Cash is held in omnibus trust accounts at partner banks, currently Citibank Europe, Crédit Agricole CIB, Deutsche Bank, HSBC Continental Europe, J.P. Morgan SE, Natixis and SEB, and is protected by the deposit guarantee scheme of whichever partner bank holds it, up to €100,000. Securities in the account are separate: they are your property in custody, not deposits.

No Irish DIRT is withheld. The interest goes on your Revenue return, at 33% if filed on time. The mechanics are on our DIRT page.
