PTSB savings rates, including the 10.41% that is not 10.41%
PTSB advertises its 5 year fixed term as a 10.41% return. That is the total over five years: 2.00% a year, same as its 1 year rate. Every PTSB rate below is stated the honest way, as AER.
Every rate on this page was read from the provider's own site. Last verified 1 August 2026.

The total-return trap
PTSB’s branch fixed-term marketing quotes the whole-term return: 2.98% over 18 months, 6.13% over 3 years, 10.41% over 5 years. All of them are 2.00% AER. No other Irish bank presents rates this way, and it is the single most common misreading Irish savers make. The AER column in our table converts everything to the same yearly measure.
The Regular Saver and its cliff
The Online Regular Saver takes up to €2,500 a month at 2.00% AER on balances to €75,000, the highest ceiling of any Irish regular saver. But cross €75,000 by a cent and the entire balance drops to 0.01%, not just the excess. It is also existing-customers-only, and its instant access sibling pays 0.01%, the lowest advertised rate in the Irish market.
